After graduating from Boston University, I obtained a position with a pediatric Oncology program in New Jersey which led me to realize my passion of working with children. I graduated with a Masters Degree from Nova Southeastern University in November 2012 in the field of Occupational Therapy. During graduate studies, I completed various clinical internships, one in the mental health ward at St. Mary's in West Palm Beach and the other with Lois Gold of the Center for Pediatric Therapy in Coral Gables, where I began my career as a Florida licensed Occupational Therapist.
In order to meet the needs of my clients, I explore and utilize a variety of settings and various disciplines and approaches. In 2014, I completed a DIR-FCD Certificate in Occupational Therapy from The Profectum™ Foundation and use the principles of the Floortime Model to interact with clients by building a trusting relationship first and then being able to work on development. Courses to address infant mental health, attachment, mommy/baby relationships, and the importance of the mind-body connection have expanded my knowledge and skills. Attendance at an advanced intensive mentorship diagnosis and treatment course on sensory processing disorder at the Star Institute under the guidance of Lucy Miller provided me with tools to explore new options for treatment.
I started riding at the age of five and continue to compete in show jumping. This passion has translated to a certification as a Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor through PATH, and integrating the knowledge I obtained through Hippotherapy Treatment Principles Level I and II by the American Hippotherapy Association.
Born in New Jersey, I have an active Occupational Therapy license in the state of New Jersey as well as the state of Florida.
